Whisky Dictionary
- Whisky
- Scottish alcoholic beverage that has matured on wooden casks. Whisky from other countries are spelled whiskey.
- Single Malt Whisky
- Whisky or Whiskey made from one single disitillery.
- Blended Whisky
- Whisky mixed from more than one type of malt or grain whiskies. Cheaper than Single Malt Whisky.
- American Whiskey
- Also called Bourbon. Made from corn. Has to be aged on barrel for at least 4 years to be called "bourbon".
- Japanese Whiskey
- Sophisticated whiskey, some types very similar to scottish single malt whisky. Famous brands are Suntory and Nikka.
- Irish Whiskey
- Some say that the irish taught the scots to make good whisky. Irish distilleries do not use peat. One famous distillery is the Bushmills Distillery.
